Important: No Schengen Access & Citizenship Route Closed

Cyprus is an EU member but is not part of the Schengen Area. A Cyprus residence permit does not grant visa-free travel to Schengen countries. The fast-track route to citizenship in 5 years was closed in 2026. Citizenship is now only available through standard naturalisation after an extended period of residency.
